Customer Rating: Summary: Decent phone but disappointing in areas Comment: I upgraded for free with this phone, a nice phone to get for free. However, I have some major issues with it. The music player cannot be used unless you figure out certain software issues, unlike other cell phone music players which are easier to figure out. Every time I get a new text message, the "unread text message" icon stays lit until I manually delete the text message from my inbox, rather irritating, because you are never for sure if you have any new messages until you delete the old ones. I have not seen a possible way to fix this. The buttons are rather difficult to text with. The ringtones are GOSH AWFUL! I don't like the camera settings, everytime you take a picture it entices you as the user to send the picture to your album, so if you just want to save a picture to your phone, the only way to do what without getting charged is with the red end call button. This is because the options screen does not have any save to phone option, just send to wherever (which is never free)I.E. (picture message, or send to "My Album". In other words, its inconvenient to take a picture just to have it on your phone, and nowhere else. Those are the cons. The Pros include, great battery life, good picture quality, (for a cell phone). Clear reception, (a very important element) nice slider action, and a really cool color. This is a good phone, but I feel that in this day and age, these features should be more user friendly than they are. Thanks, have a great day.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Simple & Easy to Use Comment: I have had this phone for about 6 months now. I looked at dozens of phones before deciding on this one. I love that I can set up and edit my phonebook online. I now have more than just phone numbers. I have addresses, too. Makes my life so much simpler. I have added pictures of my friends and family so that when they call their picture pops up and not just their name. I love the camera and video feature. All in all, I think this phone is a great value for the money. It is very stylish and easy to use at the same time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice Phone Comment: I like this phone. It looks stylish, is small but not too small to handle, and the bronze finish is appealing. There are all the usual functions people expect in a phone these days (most of which I personally never use). The only real criticism I'd have of this phone is the reception quality. Now that might not be the fault of the phone. It could just be the areas I frequent the most have poor reception. Overall though this phone is pretty good.
Customer Rating: Summary: Has some issues Comment: I've had this phone for about 6 months. While it's fairly good in terms of sound quality and has a good battery life, the are some issues:
-Many calls are dropped when when I'm not moving and have a signal
-The camera quality is aweful, you barely see your image unless you take the picture in broad daylight
-The slider is way too sensitive, I accidently hang up all the time!
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice and Simple Comment: I don't text. I looked at phones that all seemed geared toward avid texters and people who may be talking on the phone all the time. That's not me. All I needed was a phone that I could easily carry and make an occasional phone call on.
That's the Samsung t819.
I haven't had any problem with reception or call quality. That's all good. So far, I've had no problems at all. It has an okay camera that can record video, too.
Also, a helpful feature is that when the phone is in closed position, it automatically key-locks so that you don't accidentally turn it on when it's in your pocket. The lock then disengages as soon as you slide the phone open.
If you're looking for a phone that is simple, yet effective, this one's for you.

Featuring a slim, slider design and a sumptuous coffee brown color, the sleek Samsung T819 for T-Mobile is a nicely affordable, highly functional phone that will keep you closely connected as you wind through the day and night. In addition to text messaging capabilities, you can chat with buddies using Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, or ICQ instant messaging services. With T-Mobile's MyFaves service, you'll enjoy unlimited nationwide calling to your 5 favorite people. | T-Mobile Service The T819 operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via T-Mobile's EDGE network (which stands for "Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution"). It's also one of T-Mobile's first handsets to use its new 3G UMTS/WCDMA network (1700 MHz), allowing you to download ringtones and games, send photos and videos to online albums, access high-speed color Internet sites, and email quickly while on the go. Where UMTS isn't available, the handset will automatically connect to T-Mobile's EDGE network. This phone is compatible with T-Mobile's myFaves service, which allows you to call up to five of your most common contacts--on any network, even landlines--without using any of your minutes. Learn more about myFaves from T-Mobile. It also includes the T-Mobile Address Book service, which lets you add or edit contact info online, store it on T-Mobile's server, and then synchronize the changes with your phone. You can import from Microsoft Outlook, .vcf files, or use .csv files to import from Yahoo!, Gmail, etc., as well as back up your phone's address book with enhanced safety features.
